electrolytes
Hi All
If you have an infant more than 5 days old what is the maximum daily requirement that you would run glucose with electrolytes at? historically we always did 150/ml/kg/day but were now running at 120 ml/kg/day but I don't know where the evidence came from to support that. What are you doing in your units?
Kind regards Sarah

Re: electrolytes
Hi Sarah,
At Southend we normally we would have a baby on TPN by day 5 but would still add electrolytes to a bag of glucose for a baby on 150mls/kg/day.
Hopefully that helps

Hi Sarah,
No-one I've spoken to hear from nursing or medical side have heard this.
Hope you get to the bottom of it?
